【读译抗疫】胡论“设关”

  孟子曰:古之为关也,将以御暴。今之为关也,将以为暴。

 

         胡论设关

奋战“疫”情,眼看年关已到。但有些地方在设立另一个关,美名其曰:目的在于防范疫情的扩大。然而,有人把事做过了头。在一些基层,基本的疫情防控措施,从“硬核”变成了硬来。

各地加大防控无可非议,但一些地方在执行过程中,防疫工作变成名正言顺将以为暴

 

孟子曰:古之为关也,将以御暴。今之为关也,将以为暴。

Mencius said: “Anciently, the establishment of the frontier-gates was to guard against violence. Nowadays, it is to exercise violence.”     

 

孟子还曰:“徒善不足以为政,徒法不能以自行。

Virtue alone is not sufficient for the exercise of government; laws alone cannot carry themselves into practice."

 

子曰:放于利而行,多怨。

The Master said: "He who acts with a constant view to his own advantage will be much murmured against."

 

《礼记·王制》 中则古者:公田,藉而不税。市,廛而不税; 关,讥而不征。 

Anciently, the public fields were cultivated by the united labours of the farmers around them, from the produce of whose private fields nothing was levied. A rent was charged for the stances in the marketplaces, but wares were not taxed. Travelers were examined at the different passes, but no duties were levied from them.

 

有些眼里,防疫和抗似乎变成了一种表演,所以在此恳切希望那些为了防疫而表演防疫的对待自己的乡亲,要有君子之心,因为我们的先人还说过下面的话:

孟子曰:君子所以异于人者,以其存心也。君子以仁存心,以礼存心。仁者爱人,有礼者敬人。爱人者人恒爱之,敬人者人恒敬之。

Mencius said: “That whereby the superior man is distinguished from other men is what he preserves in his heart - namely, benevolence and propriety. The benevolent man loves others. The man of propriety shows respect to others. He who loves others is constantly loved by them. He who respects others is constantly respected by them.”
