Lecturer

      Gu Yan, the lecturer in the College of Foreign Languages and Cultures in Northwest University, graduated from Shaanxi Normal University with a bachelor degree in English Education Major in 1999 and graduated from Lanzhou University with a master degree in English Language and Literature Major in 2003.

      She has started teaching career from the year of 2003 and was promoted to be the lecturer in 2006. She has taught the English courses for English majors, vocational students and non-English majors. Her teaching methods are various, flexible and active and can arouse students’ learning desires.

      She published many academic papers, including two papers in Chinese core journals. She manages one research project issued by Shaanxi Provincial Educational Department and participates in many research projects, such as key social science research project issued by National Science and Technology Ministry, social science fund project of Shaanxi Province, Shaanxi Provincial Teaching Innovation Research Project, Shaanxi Provincial Excellent Course---Translation Course. She has been the chief editor and has joined in the writing work of many books and textbooks, including a series of textbooks for vocational education, a translation textbook for English majors and a English-Chinese book named Say China in English.

      She is experienced and has participated in examining test papers for TEM4, CET4 and CET6 for many years
