
Chen Juan,born in Puyang, Hennan province in 1979, is now a lecturer of English at the at the School of Foreign Language Studies in Northwest University. She graduated from Xi’an International Studies University in 2002, and started to work as a teacher of College English in Northwest University, where she got a master’s degree in Linguistics in 2007.
The major courses she teaches include Reading Comprehension and Listening Training of College English for undergraduates. Motivated by the teaching experience, she published a number of academic essays on English teaching and Applied Linguistics. She directed a number of research programs, including Non-communicative Function of Foreign Language and its Social Psychology in China, and Reformative Research on Modern-technology-based Teaching of College English Video-aural-oral Course, both sponsored by Northwest University in 2010; she also participated in several research projects of provincial level on the translation and promotion of Shaanxi tourism and historical resources. Her research interest is mainly in Pragmatics and is presently a candidate for a Doctor’s Degree in Foreign Linguistics in Nanjing University.
