SFL Successfully Held the 2025 Teaching Innovation Competition

To further deepen the reform of education and teaching, stimulate teachers' innovative vitality, and comprehensively improve the quality of classroom teaching, our SFL successfully held the 2025 Teaching Innovation Competition on the afternoon of September 10th. After mobilization across the school and careful preparation, this competition aimed to build a platform for teachers' teaching exchange and demonstration, promote teaching and reform through competition, and effectively advance the innovative practice of teaching concepts and methods. Professor Lü Minhong (Associate Dean of the School of Foreign Languages and Master's Supervisor of Shaanxi Normal University), Professor Hu Weihua (Level-2 Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Xi'an Polytechnic University), as well as Associate Deans Li Ming and Su Rui of our school, Director Wang Huan of the Japanese Department, and Director Ma Li of the First Department of College English, jointly served as judges of the competition.

This competition attracted a total of 8 teams composed of more than 20 teachers from various language majors across the school to participate, and the teams were divided into two groups for on-site teaching demonstrations. The participating teachers were well-prepared and presented diverse innovative explorations in aspects such as curriculum design, teaching content, teaching methods, and evaluation mechanisms, fully demonstrating the solid professional qualities, rich teaching wisdom, and the spirit of courage to innovate of the teachers in SFL. After fierce competition, the teaching team led by Chen Lei, the teaching team led by Gao Minna, and Teacher Gao Hong won the First Prize.

After the competition, Professor Lü Minhong and Professor Hu Weihua respectively gave wonderful comments on the participating teachers. The experts unanimously highly recognized the school's emphasis on teaching innovation work and fully affirmed the excellent performance of the teachers. They pointed out that the teachers had cutting-edge teaching concepts, well-designed curricula, and proficient classroom management, which demonstrated the professional demeanor of college teachers in the new era. Meanwhile, the experts put forward a series of valuable suggestions on how to further deepen teaching innovation, including strengthening systematic curriculum design, promoting the organic integration of information technology and teaching content, and improving the scientific evaluation and reflection mechanism for innovation effectiveness. These suggestions clarified the path for teachers to further enhance their teaching innovation capabilities.

This competition is not only a demonstration and competition of teaching skills, but also a practical collective teaching and research event and exchange gala. It provides a platform for teachers to inspire each other and make common progress, and creates a good atmosphere of delving into teaching and pursuing excellence.
