Our students perform well on the Third China Open Debate Tournament

  Ten teams from the School of Foreign Languages, the Law School, the School of Liberal Arts, the School of Economics and Management, the department of Mathematics and the department of Social Science participate in the third China open debate tournament led by teacher Xuan Jing (school of foreign language) and Chen Ping ( the law school) in Shanghai University of Finance and Economics from May.25th  to May.27th.

  Zhong Jiayue from Law School and Song Chenyao from the School of Liberal Arts entered into the semi-finals of the Moot Court (English) and won the "the best prosecution" Award; Yang Mu and Tan Jiahui entered into the quarter-finals in this part, Tan also received "the best debater of the Moot Court awards. Yao Chun and Liu Huan entered into the quarterfinals of the British parliamentary debate in the Chinese group. Gao Tian of our school entered into the semi-final of British Parliament debate in the English group.
  The China open debate tournament is sponsored by the International Debate Education Association (IDEA) founded in 1999, which is a nonprofit international organization committed to develop the worldwide debate and related activities. Debate competition and debate training activities has held in more than fifty countries in order to promote students' critical thinking and the ability of expression.
  The tournament is divided into the English group, the Chinese group and the English Moot Court group. Students came from prestigious universities like Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, as well as students from the United States, South Korea, Hong Kong, China, Macau, over 240 universities. The tournament had an unprecedented scale and great impact.
