On November 17, 2023, at 2:30 PM, Chen Guangxing, Associate Researcher and Director of the Editorial Department of Journal of English and American Literature Studies at Shanghai International Studies University, was invited to our school to give an academic lecture titled "Problem Awareness in Literary Research" to faculty and students. The lecture was hosted by Associate Professor He Hua, and over a hundred faculty and students from the school participated.

Associate Researcher Chen Guangxing began by discussing how to assess the value of an academic paper, emphasizing three key points for writing high-quality literary research journal articles: the logical framework centered on core issues, literary criticism grounded in theoretical analysis, and literary research in a dual perspective of both "the historical" and "the literary". Using examples such as "feminist criticism" and "Bakhtin's theory of carnivalization," Associate Researcher Chen Guangxing provided detailed interpretations of how to apply theoretical analysis to literary texts, emphasizing the importance of "new perspectives," "new methods," and "new materials" in the process of literary research.

After the sharing session, Associate Researcher Chen Guangxing patiently answered questions from faculty and students, particularly addressing related issues in "literary translation research." He also encouraged students to read more classical literature, adhere to academic integrity, and foster a scholarly spirit. The exchange greatly enlivened the atmosphere.

This lecture provided faculty and students at our school with a clearer and deeper understanding of the methods and approaches to conducting specific literary research, further broadening everyone's academic horizons.
