On the afternoon of May 22, Deputy Party Secretary Lü Jianrong and his delegation visited our school to investigate student employment work. Accompanying him were Du Yong, Director of the Student Affairs Department, and Ding Yingying, Executive Deputy Director of the Student Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Service Center. The school’s party and administrative leadership team, department heads, faculty representatives, and all counselors attended the discussion. The meeting was chaired by Wang Jun, the school’s Party Secretary.

At the discussion, Party Secretary Wang welcomed the university leaders and their delegation for their investigation and guidance. Dean Cao Ruonan provided an overall report on the school’s employment promotion efforts for the 2024 graduates since March. Liu Jianbo, who is in charge of student affairs, gave a detailed report on the basic situation of 2024 graduates who have not yet secured employment and the related plans for later efforts. Additionally, Vice Dean of Research Su Rui gave a brief report on the efforts of graduate advisors to promote employment, and Vice Dean of Administration Yang Ying provided a brief report on the school’s policy support.

Ding Yingying, Executive Deputy Director of the Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Center, stated that the school should explore more diverse employment channels, utilize policy measures effectively, and explain the employment situation and policies thoroughly.

Du Yong, Director of the Student Affairs Department, indicated that graduates from certain majors face structural difficulties in the job market, which can lead to collective confusion among students. The school should seize the right time to provide guidance and support.

Deputy Party Secretary Lü Jianrong emphasized the current grim situation of employment and urged the school to solidify its primary responsibilities, ensuring the quality and quantity of employment for the 2024 graduates. He outlined four points: to implement targeted policies and establish detailed assistance policies and records; to strengthen guidance and help graduates understand the current employment situation thoroughly; to effectively utilize policies and encourage students to explore multiple channels for employment; and to provide education and guidance, assist disadvantaged groups in enhancing their employability, and conduct comprehensive education for departing graduates.

This research and discussion fully embodied the care and support from the university leadership and relevant departments for the employment work of the school. In the subsequent work, the school will comprehensively implement the specific requirements of the university regarding graduate employment and entrepreneurship, and promote high-quality and full employment for school graduates.
