On the afternoon of July 5th, Professor Sun Xun from the Music Department of Southern Utah University visited our school. During his visit, Professor Sun Xun introduced the university's history and discussed its longstanding collaboration with our school. The meeting was attended by key members of our Edgar & Helen Snow Studies Center and representatives of graduate students.
Discussion Between Professor Sun Xun and Graduate Students
Professor Sun Xun drew from his academic and professional experiences in music and education to highlight differences between higher education systems in China and the United States. He also shared insights gained from his participation in cross-cultural exchange activities. Engaging with students, he addressed a wide range of topics including educational pathways, cultural understanding and musical aesthetics, In addition, he also underscored the importance for foreign language learners and researchers to navigate challenges in cross-cultural environments.

The relationship between Southern Utah University and our school has been marked by extensive academic exchange. Since 2014, four faculty members from our school have visited Southern Utah University for academic purposes. Additionally, leveraging an exchange agreement, our school has facilitated study abroad programs for two undergraduate students and one graduate student at Southern Utah University. This ongoing collaboration framework aims to enrich learning opportunities for both faculty and students, further advancing international exchange initiatives at our school.
