On November 3, 2024, the “FLTRP·ETIC CUP” National Foreign Language Contest for College Students in Shaanxi Province, themed “Understanding Contemporary China,” concluded at the Chang’an campus of Xi’an International Studies University. The event was hosted by the Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government and organized by Xi’an International Studies University. It was co-organized by the Working Committee on Foreign Languages and Literatures, Shaanxi Provincial Teaching Guidance Committee of Colleges and Universities, Shaanxi Association for College Foreign Language Teaching and Research, and the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press.
Our university’s participants competed in the English, Russian, and Japanese categories of the “FLTRP·ETIC CUP” National Foreign Language Contest for College Students in Shaanxi Province. The English category included five sub-events: Speech Competition, Comprehensive Skills Competition, Written Translation Competition, Oral Interpretation Competition and Short Video Competition. Since the university-level selection process began in June this year, our contestants, together with a dedicated team of instructors from the School of Foreign Languages, have devoted themselves to five months of intense preparation and fierce competition. In the provincial finals, our students achieved remarkable success. Six students and one video team, with their outstanding performances, successfully advanced to the national finals.
