On the afternoon of March 11, the School of Foreign Languages held a deployment meeting for 2026 national-level project applications. The meeting was chaired by Dean Cao Ruonan and Vice Dean of Academic Research He Hua, with school members planning to apply for 2026 National Social Science Fund projects, China Foreign Languages Education Research projects, and Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Science Research projects in attendance.
At the meeting, Dean Cao Ruonan first provided an overall mobilization for the school’s 2026 research project application efforts. She noted that national and provincial-level research projects serve as crucial drivers for advancing the school’s disciplinary development and research capabilities, urging faculty to attach great importance to the application process. She encouraged faculty to closely align their work with major national strategies and key frontiers in disciplinary development, further refine their research directions, thoughtfully design research topics, and develop research plans that are both innovative and academically valuable. Additionally, she stated that the school would continue to enhance its research support mechanisms to provide stronger backing for faculty project applications.
Subsequently, Vice Dean He Hua provided specific deployment plans for the school’s 2026 national and provincial-level research project applications. She offered detailed explanations regarding the application timelines, topic selection directions, submission requirements, and key considerations for National Social Science Fund projects, Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Science Research projects, and China Foreign Languages Education Research projects. She also reminded faculty to plan ahead, refine their application materials repeatedly, and further improve the quality and competitiveness of their submissions.
Attending faculty members offered opinions and suggestions regarding the organization of the school’s project application efforts, scheduling, and research support services. Drawing on their own research preparations, they engaged in discussions on optimizing application guidance, strengthening academic exchanges and experience sharing, and improving mechanisms for refining application materials, providing valuable input for the school’s subsequent project application work.
The meeting clarified the direction and built consensus for the school’s 2026 national and provincial-level research project application efforts, laying a solid foundation for further enhancing the quality of the school's research project applications.
