Recently, our school held a work symposium for the Department of Multi-languages. Attendees included Party Secretary Zhao Zhihou, Dean Cao Ruonan, Vice Dean Yang Ying, and all faculty of the department.

Focusing on standardizing teaching management and strengthening research outcomes, Dean Cao laid out two key requirements. First, on class hour management. The school will refine class hour standards and accounting rules aligned with its teaching realities and talent training goals, to ensure smooth execution of teaching tasks. Second, on academic research. A regular, standardized group meeting mechanism will be established, centered on refining research priorities, supporting project application collaboration, and facilitating academic exchange, to elevate the team’s overall research capacity.

Secretary Zhao stressed that teaching and research are the school’s core mandates. He urged all department faculty to stay committed to their core teaching duties, improve classroom quality, and actively engage in research, to advance the mutual reinforcement of teaching and research.

Regarding daily operational arrangements, Vice Dean Yang Ying clarified that the school will boost alumni engagement and optimize reference room management in the coming period, and asked department faculty to complete relevant work in their off-class hours.

Participating faculty spoke individually about their practical work in teaching, research and daily matters, and held constructive exchanges on the school’s daily operations.

The symposium created a direct communication channel between the school and faculty, and defined near-term work priorities. The Department of Multi-languages will act on the meeting outcomes, roll out targeted measures step by step, and drive steady progress in teaching and research work.
