The results of the 2026 Shaanxi Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Research Special Program were recently announced, and the School of Foreign Languages has had five projects approved. Covering international communication capacity building, classical translation studies, global history, and multilingual talent cultivation, these projects demonstrate the faculty’s research strength and vitality in foreign languages and literatures, country and region studies, and interdisciplinary education.
Among the approved projects are two key research projects (collaborative) on “‘International Communication Capacity Building”: Constructing an Application-Oriented International Talent Training System Driven by the Guocai (International Talent) Test Concept”, led by Gao Shuling, and “A ‘Foreign Language+’ Interdisciplinary International Talent Cultivation Pathway Based on an Arab Countries Research Platform”, led by Zhang Liyin. One general project, “Translation Evolution and Interpretive Shifts of Tao Te Ching in German-Speaking Countries”, is led by Zhang Jiawei. Two youth projects are “A Critical Study of Japan’s ‘Eastern Eurasian Historical Perspective’ from a Global History Perspective”, led by Zhou Mengyao, and “An fNIRS-Based Study on Cognitive Load Mechanisms and Educational Interventions in Language Switching among Multilingual Talents in Shaanxi Province”, led by Song Huale.
In recent years, the school has placed great emphasis on philosophy and social science research, actively serving national strategies and regional needs while steadily advancing organized research. These approvals represent significant outcomes of the faculty’s sustained accumulation and exploration. The school will further strengthen project process management and outcome cultivation, promote the high-quality completion of these projects, and strive to produce research findings of high academic value, practical significance, and social impact, thereby contributing the school’s strength to the flourishing of philosophy and social sciences at the university and across Shaanxi Province.
