On the afternoon of May 27, the SFL Research Team on Regional Literature, Culture and National Issues held a regular meeting in Room 503. The meeting focused on “Academic Topic Selection Aligned with National Strategies and Its Innovation Paths.” Professor Cao Ruonan, team leader, and team members attended the meeting.
Professor Cao first gave guidance in light of the team’s development goals and disciplinary direction, addressing how academic research can actively align with national strategic needs and how to refine research questions with real-world relevance and academic value in regional literary and cultural studies. She noted that team members should build on their own research foundations, closely follow national strategies, disciplinary frontiers, and social realities, and further strengthen problem awareness, broaden research horizons, and highlight innovation in topic design, so as to continuously improve research innovation capacity and the quality of outcomes. Team members then discussed their respective research directions and specific issues, and exchanged views on follow-up project applications, paper topic selection, outcome cultivation, and team collaboration.
The meeting further clarified the team’s development approach and research priorities, helping members integrate their individual research directions with national strategic needs and the School’s disciplinary development goals. In the future, the team will continue to strengthen organized research, focus on key research areas, refine high-quality academic topics, and continuously enhance its research innovation capacity and academic influence.
