On the evening of July 14, the 2025 English Country and Region Studies Pilot Program of Northwest University held its end-of-term class meeting in the School conference room on the fifth floor of West Campus Building. Dean Cao Ruonan of SFL, who also serves as class advisor, chaired the meeting, which covered first-year study summaries, future study plans, and student concerns.
Dean Cao reviewed the class’s first-year progress, affirmed students’ improvements in professional study and overall quality, and patiently answered questions on professional courses, English and Second Foreign Language proficiency, writing skills, and level exam preparation. In line with the program’s cultivation goals, she outlined priorities and directions for the next stage, guiding students to plan their studies reasonably, consolidate professional foundations, and enhance comprehensive abilities.
She encouraged students to value the pilot program platform, actively seize practical opportunities such as volunteer service, international exchange, and Study Abroad Programs, broaden their international horizons, improve cross-cultural communication skills, and grow into high-quality foreign language talent with a strong sense of national commitment and international competitiveness.
The meeting further clarified the program’s next-stage study direction, boosted students’ confidence, and laid a solid foundation for work in the new semester.
