On the afternoon of September 10, the closing ceremony of NWU’s 2026 “China-Kyrgyzstan Multilingual Perspectives on China’s Modernization Development Study Camp”was held in the conference room on the first floor of the International Cooperation Building at the Taibai Campus of Northwest University. The ceremony was presided over by He Wei, Director of the Office of International Cooperation (Dean of the International Education College). Attendees included Zhao Zhihou, Party Secretary of the School of Foreign Languages; Zhang Liyin, Vice Dean of the School of Foreign Languages; Ji Zhe, Deputy Director of the International Student Admissions Office; Wang Mingwei, staff member of the International Student Management Office; Zhao Pan, Head Teacher of the Summer School; Aida, faculty representative from the International University of Kyrgyzstan; and all program participants.

He Wei reviewed the participants’ one-month study and exchange journey at Northwest University. He stated that, centering on the theme of “China’s Modernization Development,” this summer school guided participants to observe and understand contemporary China from different perspectives through specialized courses, seminars and exchanges, and practical activities. Over the past month, participants broadened their horizons through learning, enhanced mutual understanding through exchanges, and combined their personal experiences to form observations and reflections on China's modernization development. The learning outcomes ultimately presented by the participants also reflected the practical effectiveness of this summer school in transitioning from knowledge acquisition to independent thinking.

In her speech, Zhang Liyin extended congratulations to the participants who successfully completed their study tasks, and expressed gratitude to the relevant departments and faculty involved in project organization, teaching, and logistical support. She stated that although one month of joint study and interaction was brief, it had already established new connections between Chinese and Kyrgyz youth and laid a foundation for further educational exchanges in the future. “One exchange can lead to the next encounter”—this is precisely the significance of educational exchange. She expressed her hope that both sides would take this summer school as a new starting point to further expand cooperation in areas such as faculty-student exchanges, talent cultivation, and language education, creating more opportunities for study and exchange for the youth of both universities.

Subsequently, trainee delegates shared knowledge, reflections, observations and impressions accumulated during study and residence at Northwest University. They extended gratitude for thoughtful arrangements delivered by the university over the past month, as well as instruction, companionship and support offered by faculty members. Drawing from a series of courses, seminars and first‑hand experiences across China, participants jointly produced a commemorative video. The production documents learning and daily life in Xi’an from personal perspectives, and shares observations and reflections on social progress and modernization within China.

Four weeks of learning and exchanges linked classroom learning, urban experiences and daily interactions. At the closing session, participants voiced willingness to pursue further study in China. Such aspirations stand as the most direct feedback for this program, and extend the value of educational exchanges beyond classrooms toward broader‑scale people‑to‑people engagement. State President Xi Jinping recently paid a visit to Kyrgyzstan, injecting fresh impetus into deepened cooperation across all sectors between the two nations. Against such a backdrop, higher‑education institutions serve not only as vital platforms for knowledge‑based exchange, but also as key bonds for young people to enhance mutual understanding and build trust. Taking this summer school as an opportunity, our institute will further advance educational cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and open more channels for youth‑oriented exchanges. Concrete, vibrant cultural interactions between the two countries will continue to converge and form a solid foundation for China‑Kyrgyzstan friendship and people‑to‑people connectivity.
At the close of the ceremony, attending guests, teaching staff and all trainees gathered for a group photograph.
