Notice on the Arrangements for the 2025 English (Country and Region Studies Pilot Program) Major Admission in the School of Foreign Languages

In accordance with Northwest University “Major Streamlining, Admission and Exit” Management Measures for Full-time Undergraduate Students (Northwest Unniversity Education [2021] No. 3) and Implementation Rules (Trial) for Major Admission to the English (Country and Region Studies Pilot Program) in SFL, specific arrangements for major admission of 2025 English (Country and Region Studies Pilot Program) this semester are hereby notified as follows:

I. Application Material Submission

Students applying for admission to this major must fill out one copy of “Northwest University Undergraduate Major Admission Application Form” (see attachment for details). After being reviewed and stamped by their home school/department, the form should be submitted.

1.Submission Deadline: December 10, 2025, 17:00;

2. Submission Location: Room 501 South, 5th Floor, West Campus Building, Chang’an Campus, School of Foreign Languages Academic Affairs Office;

II. Eligibility Review and Public Notice

Before December 15, 2025, the list of students who have passed the major admission eligibility review will be published on the official website of the School of Foreign Languages (https://wyxy.nwu.edu.cn/). Applicants are advised to check the website promptly.

III. Assessment Arrangements

1. Assessment Time and Content: On December 18, 2025 (Thursday), the School of Foreign Languages will organize a written test, interview, and psychological assessment; on December 19, 2025 (Friday), the School of Country and Region Studies will conduct interviews.

2. Assessment Location: The specific venues for the written test and interview will be notified separately.

IV. Public Notice of the Provisional Admission List

1. Before December 24, 2025, the provisional list of students admitted for major admission will be published on the official website of the School of Foreign Languages (https://wyxy.nwu.edu.cn/). The public notice period will be 3 working days. During this period, any objections can be submitted to the School of Foreign Languages Academic Affairs Office.

2. After the public notice period, the provisional admission list will be submitted by the Academic Affairs Office to the university for approval. It will be announced in an official university document. Final approval and student status changes will then be processed in the Academic Management System.

V. Other Matters

1. Students granted major admission should complete the relevant procedures at the beginning of the new semester and register with the School of Foreign Languages.

2. Students granted major admission must continue studying the courses they have selected for this semester and participate in the final assessments. The assessment results will be fully and accurately recorded in the Academic Management System.
