Jia Pingwas Novelle Translated by Prof. Hu Zongfeng Being Published in New Letters

Recently, the English version of Jia Pingwa's novelle of 1985 Darky, translated by Professor Hu Zongfeng who is the director of China Association of Translation, vice-president of Shaanxi Association of Translation and vice-dean of School of Foreign Study together with the young teacher Liu Xiaofeng of Civil Aviation University of China, has been published in the 77th volume, first issue, November of 2010 of New Letters which is an old brand among American literal magazines.

American New Letters founded in the winter of 1934 by the University of Kansas City with its original name The University Review, renamed to The University of Kansas City Review in 1944 and to the present name in 1971. New Letters keeps carrying out the idea that quality is the only standard for paper selection. This magazine has published a group of famous American writers such as Pearl S. Buck, J.D. Salinge, Robert Bly, John Updike and the works of distinguished writers from other countries in the world since 80 years of its foundation. It's the first time that the latest New Letters published a contemporary Chinese writer's works with heavy stress (one third space) .
