To further enhance the teachers' research proposal writing skills, the School of Foreign Languages held the third Pre-Application Review Meeting for the 2025 National Social Science Fund Projects and the Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Science Projects on the afternoon of December 27, 2024. The meeting was honored to have Professor Zhang Xiping from Beijing Foreign Studies University and Professor Zhang Yating from Shaanxi Normal University as guest advisors. The Associate Dean of Research Su Rui, and faculty members who were planning to apply for research projects also participated in the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Associate Dean Su Rui.
Associate Dean Su Rui delivered the welcome speech, expressing gratitude to the experts for coming to the school to guide the research work. Six faculty members, including Yang Liu and Wang Huan, presented their reports sequentially, covering aspects such as research ideas, framework, innovation points, and key challenges. Professors Zhang Xiping and Zhang Yating provided thorough and detailed feedback on each report. They offered suggestions from a reviewer's perspective, focusing on the feasibility of the projects, the adequacy of the literature, the clarity of the research ideas, and the rigor of the argumentation.
Associate Dean Su Rui emphasized that the school will continue to optimize its research support system, providing faculty with more resources and opportunities to help them achieve new breakthroughs in their research endeavors. She expressed her hope that faculty members would use this review meeting as an opportunity to further ignite their passion for research, strive for academic excellence, and achieve personal growth in tandem with the development of the institution.
